The people behind the process

Three co-founders with decades of experience in quantitative research, systematic trading and banking — supported by an independent compliance function and operating as an AI-native firm where every function runs through AI-assisted workflows under human-in-the-loop oversight.

Co-founders

Three founders. One trading book.

Each cofounder runs personal capital inside the same strategies on the same terms — no side-pocket, no preferential execution.

Operating model

AI-native by design

Algotoria is an AI-native asset manager. Beyond the systematic trading engine itself, every operational function — software development, risk management, compliance, accounting, investor support and marketing — is executed through AI-assisted workflows under human-in-the-loop oversight, in accordance with the firm’s Board-approved AI and External Data Provider Policy.

The outcome: governance with full audit trails across every discretionary decision; a lean cost base that structurally supports the firm’s 0% management fee; and minutes-not-days response times on investor enquiries, due-diligence requests and reporting.

The three co-founders set the direction. Rigorous statistical testing and AI optimise every decision.
Governance

Three bodies. One rulebook.

Board of Directors
Dr Nik Ptitsyn (Chair), Sergei Kalmatsui, Evgenii Voronchikhin
Investment Committee
Evgenii Voronchikhin (Chair), Andrei Voronchikhin, Sergei Kalmatsui, Dr Nik Ptitsyn
MLRO
Dr Anna Deshko (independent, reports to the Board)

Hard-coded risk limits require unanimous Investment Committee approval and Board notification before they may be changed. The MLRO operates independently and has direct Board escalation on all compliance matters.

Get Started

A few common questions — then a direct line to the team.

How many people work at Algotoria, and what credentials do they hold?
A core full-time team of nine: three co-founders (Dr Nik Ptitsyn, Sergei Kalmatsui, Evgenii Voronchikhin), one Senior Trader (Andrei Voronchikhin), two developers (Denis Savenko, Niaz Kamalov), the MLRO (Dr Anna Deshko), and two account-administration staff (Andrei Ptitsyn, Olga Kalmatsui). Every member holds diplomas or PhDs in Economics, Finance, Investments or Computer Science, plus the Certified International Investment Analyst (CIIA) — the European equivalent of the CFA. Beyond the core team, the firm draws on Beeater AG’s venture-studio network of 300+ professionals for IT infrastructure, 24/7 monitoring, accounting and marketing — so the quantitative team focuses exclusively on alpha generation.

Do the co-founders have skin in the game?
Yes. The three co-founders run roughly $2.47 million of their own capital inside the same strategies, under the same risk tiers, the same fee structure, and the same exchange accounts as every other client. There is no side-pocket, no preferential execution, and no separate set of books for principal capital. Co-founder skin in the game is recorded in the corporate register and updated on the cap table.

What is the firm’s governance — Board vs. Investment Committee?
The Board of Directors (Dr Nik Ptitsyn — Chair, Sergei Kalmatsui, Evgenii Voronchikhin) is the supreme governing body: it sets strategic direction, approves annual budgets, evaluates new product lines and exchange partnerships, and reviews compliance and risk reports from the MLRO. The Board meets quarterly with a quorum of 2 of 3. The Investment Committee (Evgenii Voronchikhin — Chair, plus the other two co-founders and Senior Trader Andrei Voronchikhin) is the principal decision-making body for strategy, portfolio construction and risk. Because the trading is 100% algorithmic, the IC’s job is to govern the rules, parameters and risk limits the algorithms operate within. The IC meets bi-weekly and ad hoc during market stress, and reports to the Board each quarter. All meetings are minuted. Hard-coded risk limits require unanimous IC approval and Board notification to change.

What does AI-native mean for Algotoria, and what does it deliver to investors?
Algotoria is an AI-native asset manager. Beyond the systematic trading engine, every operational function — software development, risk management, compliance, accounting, investor support and marketing — is executed through AI-assisted workflows under human-in-the-loop oversight. The Board-approved AI and External Data Provider Policy is aligned with ISO 42001 and the NIST AI Risk Management Framework. Three concrete investor outcomes: (1) the 0% management fee, structurally supported by an operating cost base that does not scale linearly with AUM or investor count; (2) minutes-not-days response times on enquiries and due-diligence requests; (3) full audit trails preserved in tenant-level logs across every discretionary decision. Trading signals remain rules-based and IC-approved — AI does not make discretionary trading calls.

How does the firm structurally align interests and mitigate conflicts?
The fee model is the primary alignment mechanism: zero fixed management fee, exclusively performance-based compensation, against a rolling high-water mark. The team only earns when investors earn — and the co-founders run $2.47 M of personal capital on the same terms. The Asset Management Agreement contractually prohibits self-dealing and any transaction creating an actual or potential conflict between the firm’s proprietary interests and the client’s. Any potential conflict must be disclosed in writing and the firm is barred from acting on the matter until the conflict is resolved to the client’s satisfaction. Operationally, the trading engine is 100% systematic and uses the same signal for every SMA, so no human can favour one account over another. The firm currently records zero active conflicts of interest.

Where does the team physically work?
Algotoria is a distributed firm with a registered office in the BVI and a working footprint spanning Dubai, Hong Kong, Almaty, Lisbon, Madrid and London — the same cities listed in the footer of every page on this site. The co-founders meet in person monthly; quants, engineers and operations specialists collaborate over a continuous-availability stack. The distributed model is a structural choice, not a remote-pandemic legacy: it lets the firm follow markets 24/7 and recruit specialists where they live.
Is the Board independent of the founders?
The Board sets the firm’s overall risk appetite, approves the compliance and AML manuals annually, and ratifies material AI-policy or operational-policy changes. It is a separate governance body from the Investment Committee — the IC handles weekly trading-strategy approvals; the Board governs the firm. The MLRO function is held by Dr Anna Deshko in an independent compliance capacity, reporting separately to the Board on AML / CFT matters.
